Diamor House Featured in Image Magazine

Situated in north country Meath, this new-build home sits gently in the surrounding rural landscape, which includes agricultural buildings, drystone walls, and two ringforts nearby. Both its roof and walls are clad in natural slate, while a central roof light illuminates the whole home with light.

Directors Declan Crowley and Niamh Chambers of Studio Anois architects explain that the square form of the house was decided on because the clients wanted a space that felt interconnected. 

“The simple square form of the house means that rooms are within easy reach to each other, while the void over the open plan living area connects the ground floor with the upstairs, while allowing light to flood in from the roof box above.”

RIAI Public Choice Award Shortlist 2021

Our Smithfield House has been included in the RIAI Public Choice Awards Shortlist 2021

Now in their 32nd year, the RIAI Awards are the premier architectural awards in Ireland. The RIAI Awards recognise excellence in design and the contribution made by architecture to society for everyone’s benefit. Following an open call for entries, the projects on the Shortlist were selected by the Jury from anonymous entries. The Public Choice Award is a unique opportunity for the public to choose their favourite project of the year from this Shortlist.

Open House Worldwide - Smithfield House featured

Our Smithfield House project is one of three Irish projects featured in the inaugural year of Open House Worldwide, a network of 46 organisations hosting festivals and dialogue about architecture, design and cities across the globe. In 2017, 750,000 people participated in Open House events with nearly 2 million visits to buildings enabled by 17,400 volunteers. Taken together, Open House Worldwide is the largest celebration of the urban landscape in the world.

Design Pop 2020

We are excited to speak at this year’s Design Pop Festival in Cork. Design Pop is a design and food festival which celebrates creativity and collaboration. Most of the events are free. We are speaking on the Saturday, among a great line up of events from discussions on gender equality, fellow architects DUA, & artist Maser. A weekend not to be missed!
